Clarence Eugene Hancock represented New York in the House of Representatives as a Republican from 1927 to 1947. When Hancock represented the 35th district from 1927 to 1945, it included the city of Syracuse and all of Onondaga and Cortland counties.

Syracuse’s Hancock International Airport is named after him.
