Vivendi Universal, S.A. Securities Fraud Trial, led by Abby Spanier LLP partner and NYLS graduate Arthur N. Abby, was one of the largest class action lawsuits to go to trial in US history, resulting in a jury verdict finding Vivendi Universal, S.A. liable for securities fraud. The jury found that the company violated federal securities law by making inaccurate and false statements about its corporate liquidity and performance from 2000-2002, giving all shareholders who purchased or acquired shares during that period ability to join the in class action suit.
