Description

After graduating from New York Law School in 1962, Barbara Watson went on to become the first black and first woman Assistant Secretary of State following her nomination by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968. She later served as ambassador to Malaysia under President Carter. Barbara Watson is pictured on the right. Her sister Grace is pictured on the left. Their father was James S. Watson, New York Law School class of 1913.
