Description
Chapter 307 of New York's Laws of 1897, which became effective on April 19, 1897, provided for the incorporation of New York Law School and granted the trustees the power to grant and confer the degrees of bachelor of laws and master of laws and to award diplomas. Previously, graduates received their degrees from the Regents of the University of New York.
