Many of the law school's distinguished Alumni have had a key role in many of the most prominent law firms in New York and elsewhere, whether as founders, partners, or leaders of these firms. Some of the earliest members of this group are featured below.

Albert G. Milbank, Class of 1898, was among the founding partners of what would become Milbank, Tweed, Hope & Webb.
Alexander Lindey, Class of 1925, was a long-time partner of Morris Ernst (Class of 1912) in the firm of Greenbaum, Wolff & Ernst.
Alfred L. Rose, Class of 1910, was a long-serving managing partner of Proskauer, Rose, Goetz & Mendelson.
Charles B. Eddy, Class of 1895, joined the firm of Reed, Simpson, Thacher & Barnum (today known as Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett) in 1901, becoming a Partner in 1907.
Charles S. Guggenheimer, Class of 1899, a Member for Fifty-Five Years of Guggenheimer & Untermyer, the Firm Founded by his Father in 1882.
David T. Wilentz, Class of 1917, was the New Jersey attorney general (1934-44) and founding partner of Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer.
Fitzhugh McGrew, Class of 1902, was the fourteenth partner of the firm of White & Case.
Glover Johnson, Class of 1925, became the twenty-first partner at the firm of White & Case in 1936.
