Description

Henry H. Pierce, Class of 1898. Henry Hill Pierce, an evening student, graduated from New York Law School in 1898 and began working for Alexander & Green. In 1907, he joined the firm of Sullivan & Cromwell, where he became a partner in 1909. In 1905, he had married Katherine Robinson Curtis, daughter of William J. Curtis, who had joined Sullivan & Cromwell in 1881 as one of its first lawyers. Pierce was a trustee of Bowdoin College, from which he had graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1896. Bowdoin awarded him an LL.D. degree in 1926.
