The online exploitation of children is a widespread problem that requires immediate action. This Note proposes that Congress amend federal legislation to mandate that electronic service providers respond to notifications from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding suspected child sexual abuse material on their sites. This Note also urges the imposition of penalties on providers that fail to comply with this requirement. These proposals aim to incentivize compliance, encourage providers to enhance their efforts to remove exploitive content from their platforms, and strengthen existing safeguards to better protect children in the digital age.
